The Café’s coaches are certified to administer the six assessment instruments below. Each entry names the publisher, where the instrument is typically used, and what it measures. For how assessments fit into a coaching engagement, see Individual & Team Assessments.

Birkman Signature Assessment

Birkman International

Application: individual assessment · team building · team effectiveness · team assessment

Evaluates your preferences across four areas — motivation, self-perception, social perception and mindset — to show both how you operate and how others are likely to read you. It surfaces usual behaviors, underlying needs, interests and stress behaviors, which makes it useful for identifying strengths, spotting what needs work, and aligning people to the roles that actually suit them.

CliftonStrengths Assessment

Gallup, Inc.

Application: individual assessment · team building · team effectiveness

Formerly StrengthsFinder, and taken by more than 23 million people since 2001. Grounded in positive psychology, it measures your talents — your natural patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving — and sorts them into 34 themes. The work that follows is turning those raw talents into dependable strengths: naming them, claiming them, and learning which to bring to which situation.

EQ-i 2.0 Emotional Intelligence Self-Assessment

Multi-Health Systems Inc. (MHS)

Application: individual assessment · team building · team effectiveness

Measures the interaction between a person and the environment they work in. Assessing emotional intelligence this way establishes where targeted development would pay off, and the strategies it returns tend to move performance, working relationships and leadership potential together rather than one at a time.

EQ 360 Emotional Intelligence Multi-Rater Assessment

Multi-Health Systems Inc. (MHS)

Application: individual assessment · 360-degree feedback · team building · team effectiveness

Where the EQ-i 2.0 reports how you see yourself, the EQ 360 adds the people who work with you. Comparing observer ratings against your own self-report produces a fuller picture — the strengths an organization can lean on, and the gaps between intent and impact that are hard to see from the inside.

Hogan Assessments

Hogan Assessments

Application: leadership development · executive coaching · career development · self-awareness

Three linked instruments covering your day-to-day strengths (HPI), the behaviors that surface under pressure (HDS), and the values that shape what you pursue and where you will thrive (MVPI). Together they show how others experience you, what drives you, and what tends to get in your way — which is what makes Hogan useful for recognizing derailers before they cost you something.

TESI — Team Emotional & Social Intelligence

Collaborative Growth

Application: team building · team effectiveness · team assessment

A team 360 built around seven competencies of team success: identity, motivation, emotional awareness, communication, stress tolerance, conflict resolution and positive mood. Perfection isn’t the goal — knowing which strengths to lean on and which weaknesses to work is what moves a team toward sustainable productivity.
